I’ve been wearing combat/tactical boots since the mid 1970’s via my military, law enforcement, and security careers. From standard issue boots to those purchased on my own dime. Most have been comfortable if sized correctly. With the exception of a pair of boon dockers I was issued in Navy bootcamp. For almost a month, I’ve been wearing the DeckersXLab DX-G8 Boot. And I’ve got to say they are the most comfortable combat/tactical boot I’ve ever worn. The DX-G8 are also the first pair of rough side out boots I’ve ever worn. The others required a can of polish.
The DX-G8 boots are light weight, cushioned, and are comfortable on my feet. I’ve worn them on hikes out in the woods, eight hour shifts at work, crawling around in the crawl space and general knocking around. While out hiking in the woods I stepped in puddles that went over the front of the boot and experienced no water getting inside the boot. I’ve worn both thin wool and thick padded socks with them. Both were comfortable with no noticeable difference in comfort or feel.

DeckersXLab DX-G8 Boot Overview:
Previous boots I’ve worn always seemed to have a tendency to bunch up around the bend in the ankle. Resulting in a pressure/hot spot. This hasn’t been the case with the DeckersXLab. A little thing at least in my mind is the metal speed loops for the laces. They work fine but require a little more time to loosen up the laces. Not major and they can be preset to facilitate getting them on quicker in the case of an emergency. Slight wear appeared from crawling around in the crawl space. And one of the stitches on the toe pulled out but does not appear to affect the integrity of the boot. But is slightly disappointing considering the price.
Overall, I’m happy with the DeckersXLab DX-G8 Boot. They’re super comfortable, light wight, durable, and I’m looking forward to getting a lot of wear out of them.
