Breeo X-Series Smokeless Fire Pits | Made in the USA

The X-Series fire pit from Breeo is the original smokeless fire pit built in Lancaster, PA. After spending the entire summer around the X-30 fire pit, I can personally attest to the quality of their design. There are three reasons that fires produce smoke. The wrong fuel, lack of oxygen or lack of heat. Breeos solution is the patented X Airflow system incorporated into the bottom of the fire pit. Providing the necessary air flow for complete combustion of the fuel.

Smokeless technology

In addition to the X Airflow system that draws fresh air into the bottom of the fire pit for primary combustion. Breeo uses a double walled design to create a secondary combustion. Hot air between the walls of the X-Series is forced back into the fire pit through a series of holes at the top of the stove. This helps to burn off remaining smoke by creating a secondary combustion. The result is a fire pit that minimizes the amount of smoke allowing you to sit still and enjoy the experience. Rather than playing musical chairs to avoid the smoke. Although no stove is truly “smokeless”, this design significantly reduces it to 10% or less than open fires.

Cooking with the Breeo fire pit

Although creating the perfect smokeless fire pit is the goal of Breeo. They take it a step further and offers several ways to cook on or over your fire pit. Each X-Series fire pit has an attachment socket in the top plate to mount an Outpost Grill. The X-30 actually has enough room for two of these sockets allowing the use of a pair of grills or even a Kettle Hook. While the smaller X-19 and X-24 each have a single socket for mounting a grill or kettle hook. Depending on what’s being cooked, you’ll have the options necessary for a full wood fire cooked meal.

We use the Outpost Grill all summer to cook bison burgers, steaks, bacon, potatoes, etc. Since wood fires are more difficult to control temperature wise, adjusting the height of the grill over the fire is essential. And Breeo makes this really simple with the Outpost Grill. Using a large wing style screw and a handle, the user can easily raise and lower the grilling surface to get that perfect temperature on the food. Another option is to order the Sear Plate option with your X-Series fire pit. This larger stainless outer rim allows the chef to sear anything on the menu directly on the lip of the fire pit. The sear plate is angled inwards to direct dripping grease or food oils back into the pit for combustion.

Stainless Steel or Corten Steel?

We opted for the Corten Steel as it will better suit our design when we build our lake house. Comparing the Breeo smokeless fire pit to the Solo Stove

A friend friend of mine owns a Solo Stove and we’ve spent several evenings around it together. And with that experience, I’ve come to a few unscientific conclusions. Otherwise known as my opinion. Although the Solo Stove offers a nice smokeless fire and ambiance on the patio. One thing I noticed is that most, if not all of the heat, seems to radiate vertically within the cylinder of the stove. Although my friends stove is a smaller unit than the X-30 I own but it proved fairly ineffective for warmth when sitting alongside the stove.

The X Series fire pits, on the other hand, seems to heat the outer wall of the fire pit much more. Radiating the heat outwards for a more pleasant experience while encircling the fire pit when warmth is welcome. Both fire pits chew through wood quickly due to the efficiency of the combustion. So be aware of that regardless which fire pit you decide on. Breeo fire pits allow the ability to cook directly on the stove or with various adjustable attachments. While Solo Stoves only offer a fixed grill or griddle solution for cooking.
